Mimi is awfully glad that’s over!
My first nephew, Andrew Augustus, arrived last night shortly before 6pm. He is a handsome little guy, with mounds of dark hair, the chunkiest little cheeks and precious dimples. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 14 oz. and 20” long. He is welcomed by my sister, Mimi, and her husband, David.
Please do say a little prayer for Mimi…I took a red-eye down on Monday to join her for an induction as she was a week overdue. Despite a valiant 25 hours in labor, they delivered Drew via an emergency c-section after his heart rate started dropping. He is perfect in every way and we are very thankful to have him. Unfortunately, Mimi’s blood pressure dropped and she lost consciousness, then it soared to ridiculous heights and she had a violent reaction to the pain medication. She had a very sketchy 20 minutes or so in there, but she will be fine. Recovery will just be long as her body has been through quite the ordeal and they are watching her vitals closely. I am incredibly proud of her and she’s going to be the most wonderful mother. She’s wanted this baby for a long, long time and is very blessed by his presence. I’ll be in Florida for the next week or so to assist in her recovery- will keep you posted.
