A particular female species of bamboo grown in India produces a material called tabasheer in its joints. Tabasheer is naturally rich in silica (around 96%) and has been used traditionally in Indian phytotherapy for its remineralizing properties. A fine powder, it gently sloughs dead skin cells to reveal glowing, healthy skin.
