Join me in DC
July 29, 2008
Bella Luccè was asked to participate in a cool study by Iowa State University, designed to understand the current market and challenges for bio-based products in hopes that they can initiate policy and legislation designed to boost the “green” market. That’s exciting stuff that’s close to my heart, so I was honored to be a part. You can read more about the study here and watch that same page this fall for study results. I sat for my interview today and am excited to see what the study brings.
It seems that regulatory matters are on the hearts and minds of many these days. I am headed up to Washington D.C. next week to meet up with Donna Maria Coles-Johnson (of Indie Business) and Anne-Marie Faiola (of Brambleberry) to address congressional staffers regarding the Food and Drug Globalization Act of 2008. It’s our hope to bring a small-business perspective to the table and encourage our congresspeople to reconsider several pieces of that legislation which would negatively impact the handmade toiletry industry.
If you’d like to join us after the Congressional meeting, we’d love to see you for dinner, cocktails, de-briefing and strategy talks. Here are the details:
When: August 5, 2008
Time: 5:30pm
Where: California Pizza Kitchen, Dupont Circle (on the red line)
Please leave a comment on Donna Maria’s blog with your RSVP if you plan to attend. Hope to see you there!
