Up and at ‘em
June 6, 2008
I was up, quite literally, at the crack of dawn. Or, before dawn- to be exact. Yesterday was the official last day of school for my girls (congrats to Chloe and Celie!) and we curled up on the couch last night, reading books until well after our normal bedtime. When the alarm rustled me from a deep sleep this morning, I glared at the glowing red digits that throbbed “4:30” and (rather unpolitely) said to my husband “Babe, turn off the alarm…IT’S SUMMER!” To which he replied “Um….babe, Phoenix?” Riiiiiiiiight. Phoenix. I knew I should have gone to bed sooner.
Nevertheless, I was out of the house and headed to the airport by 5:05am. A small army of Spa Girl Party consultants is descending upon Arizona and I was invited by Steve & DiAna (SGP’s founders) to address the group at the inaugural convention. And so, wiping the sleep from my eyes, here I sit in Cincinnati, in transit to Phoenix. And, if I have not taken the opportunity recently to complain about how you cannot fly direct from Columbia, SC to ANYWHERE, please let me do so now. In my next life, living in a hub city will not be negotiable.
Nevertheless, I am eager to lay my weary eyes on Arizona for the very first time. I am always happy to chat all things Bella Luccè and they say Arizona will provide a beautiful (if not ridiculously HOT) setting to do so. The icing on my cupcake is that I’ll get to grab lunch with my Brandi, my best friend from 4th grade, on Saturday. We haven’t seen each other in a solid decade or more and I can’t wait to dig into a tasty salad and reminisce about that time we got caught by my father sitting on the top shelf of my bedroom closet decorating the ceiling and walls with crayon’d graffiti. Good times…. Stay tuned!
