The neatest thing since sliced bread…
July 26, 2006
Last time I was in Indy, I noticed a new industry emerging- a small avalanche of shops destined to make dinnertime a whole lot easier for mommies everywhere. These shops plan a dozen meals each day, post the recipe, slice the veggies and meat, etc. You show up with a few girlfriends, grab a glass of red wine and start putting meals together by cycling through each “station” of prepared food. About an hour later, you’re on the way home with no less than a dozen fully prepared freeze-able meals which you can throw in the oven on any given night. Now that’s what I call easy. No meal planning, no shopping, no prep and no cleanup…
It’s a great concept and one that I’ve been pining for…just waiting for the moment when my hometown of Columbia would catch on. At long last, I drove by a storefront last week, just as they were erecting a “Dinner Dash” sign out front (yippee!). I’m in Indianapolis again at the moment and it reminded me that I’ve been meaning to post about these shops since my last visit a few months ago. There’s a bumper crop of these franchises….peek below to see if there’s one near you!
